Rorschach® Interpretation Assistance Program: Version 5 (RIAP5™)

John E. Exner, Irving B. Weiner and PAR Staff

Description:

Designed to assist clinicians with scoring and interpreting Rorschach results, the unlimiteduse RIAP5 generates a newly designed Client Report--an abbreviated, individualized, and simplified version of the RIAP5 Interpretive Report that is intended to be read and retained by the client. The Client Report provides the basis for a discussion of a client's personality strengths and weaknesses, adjustment difficulties, and possible need for treatment. This report is written in easy-to-understand language, without jargon, and can be easily edited on-screen. In addition to the new Client Report, the RIAP5 provides a revised Interpretive
Report that assists the clinician with scoring and interpretation. The clinician enters the client's demographic information, as well as background, presenting and diagnostic information, and the Sequence of
Scores (i.e., coded responses). These codes may be entered using the keyboard or the mouse; once entered, the software takes over calculating the various indexes, ratios, and percentages that are necessary for interpretation. An on-screen Software Manual is included to assist with installation and program navigation.

CFSEI–3: Culture Free Self-Esteem Inventories - Third Edition

American Psychiatric Association

Description:

This completely revised and updated test assesses self-esteem in a culturally fair manner. The CFSEI-3 is a set of self-report inventories used to determine the level of self-esteem in students ages 6-0 through 18-11. Three new age-appropriate forms were developed: Primary, Intermediate, and Adolescent. All three forms of the inventory provide a Global Self-Esteem Quotient (GSEQ). The Intermediate and Adolescent Forms provide self-esteem scores in 4 areas: Academic, General, Parental/Home, and Social. The Adolescent Form provides an additional selfesteem score: Personal Self-Esteem. A defensive measure is also provided to assess the extent to which an examinee's responses are guarded.
The CFSEI-3 is easy to administer and score. It can be administered to individuals or groups in 15 to 20 minutes each. Responses (simple yes-or-no answers) can be either written or spoken. New, easy-to-use Profile/Scoring Forms are now included. Conversion tables provide subscale standard scores based on a mean of 10 and a standard deviation of 3 and quotient scores based on a mean of 100 and a standard deviation of 15. The CFSEI-3 was standardized on a sample of 1,727 persons from 17 states. The normative group was stratified on the basis of geographic region, gender, race, rural or urban residence, ethnicity, family income, parent education, and disability. The demographic characteristics match those projected for the school-age population in the year 2000 by the U.S. Bureau of the Census (1999).

Clinical Assessment of Attention Deficit–Adult™ (CAT-A™)

Bruce A. Bracken & Barbara S.Boatwright

Description:

The CAT-A is a 108-item self-report instrument that is comprehensive, highly reliable, and sensitive to the symptomatology of attentional deficits both with and without hyperactivity for adults. Closely aligned with current diagnostic criteria, the CAT-A includes scales, clusters, and items that are sensitive to symptom presentation in differing contexts and as expressed as either internal sensations or overt behaviors.
The CAT-A consists of two parts: Part 1 (Childhood Memories) assesses the individual's memories of his/her behaviors and sensations as a child; and Part 2 (Current Symptoms) assesses parallel issues in adulthood. The CAT-A provides Clinical Index scores for the Childhood Memories section, the Current Symptoms section, as well as the summation of these two sections. In addition, three validity scales are embedded within the instrument--Negative Impression, Infrequency, and Positive Impression.

Clinical Assessment Scale for the Elderly (CASE)

Cecil R. Reynolds and Erin D. Bigler

Description:

The CASE is designed to assist the clinician in the diagnosis of DSM-IV Axis I clinical disorders in individuals. The CASE consists of a self-rating form (Form S) and an other-rating form (Form R that can be completed by a knowledgeable caregiver (e.g., a spouse, child, home health care worker, sibling). Form R is especially useful to verify the information provided by the patient, or when the patient is unable to complete the assessment due to physical or cognitive difficulties. Developed specifically to assess for the most prominent DSM-IV disorders among the elderly. Normed on a U.S. census-matched sample of 2,000 adults, ages 55-90 years. Consists of 10 clinical scales: Anxiety (ANX), Cognitive Competence (COG), Depression (DEP), Fear of Aging (FOA), Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD), Paranoia (PAR), Psychoticism (PSY), Somatization (SOM), Mania (MAN), and Substance Abuse (SUB). Includes a valuable Fear of Aging scale that assesses an individual's level of apprehension about the aging process. CASE items are free of gender or ethnic bias. Contains three validity scales especially useful to identify feigning and for forensic assessments.

Sentence Completion Series (SCS)

Larry H. Brown and Michael A. Unger

Description:

The SCS consists of eight self-report forms, each with 50 content-valid sentence stems pertaining to specific areas of concern: Adult, Adolescent, Family, Marriage, Parenting, Work, Illness, and Aging. The client completes each unfinished sentence with the first thought that comes to mind. The SCS is self-administered for those who possess adequate reading ability. Forms may be administered orally for clients who are unable to read and write. The instrument is scored by the clinician who examines the statements and draws inferences from the responses. Because only a few sentence stems are common across the eight forms, multiple forms can be used with little redundancy to maximize the breadth of information obtained from a client.

Reynolds Adolescent Depression Scale - Second Edition (RADS-2)

William M. Reynolds

Description:

The original RADS has been used by thousands of clinicians, school personnel, and researchers to evaluate depression in adolescents in the U.S. and over 30 other countries. The RADS-2 is a brief, 30-item self-report measure that includes subscales which evaluate the current level of an adolescent's depressive symptomatology along four basic dimensions of depression: Dysphoric Mood, Anhedonia/Negative Affect, Negative Self-Evaluation, and Somatic Complaints. Interpretation of these four subscales is based on both the nature of the depression domain and the item content of the subscale. The RADS-2 standard (T) scores and associated clinical cutoff score provide the clinician or researcher with an indication of the clinical severity of the individual's depressive symptoms (normal, mild, moderate, or severe). Scores are plotted on a Summary/Profile Form, allowing comparison of elevations across subscales. Examining item endorsement levels within elevated subscales can provide further information about the nature of an adolescent's reported symptomatology.

Description:

The MMPI-2 AIS V4 provides the clinician with comprehensive interpretations for the MMPI-2 and the MMPI-2 Restructured Form (MMPI-2-RF®). The program offers three interpretive reports for the MMPI-2, including a Codetype Report (similar to the report offered by Version 3), a Content-Based Report, and a Codetype/Content-Based Report. A Content-Based report is offered for the MMPI-2-RF. All reports include information on the potential impact of demographic factors, assessment of specific Dangerousness to Self and Others items, and a description of test-taking behaviors (e.g., omissions, accuracy of endorsement). The MMPI-2 AIS V4 does not score the MMPI-2 or the MMPI-2-RF; rather, it offers interpretation based on scores that are manually input into the program.
